Spotlight on: Megan Welsh Fine Art

When Love for the Great Outdoors Becomes Art

Combining her love of hiking and painting, Megan Welsh has found her niche as an impressionist landscape artist. When she reached out to us in need of brand imagery for her new website, we knew immediately we had to document her entire process, which, for starters, meant going on a hike in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Learn more about Megan and see some of our favorite images from our two-day brand session below.

TELL US MORE ABOUT YOU, MEGAN!

I am an art and education graduate from Calvin University and have been teaching art for over 20 years, along with painting on the side. Recently, I’ve begun to focus fully on growing as an artist and my art business. I love to paint beautiful places that I’ve visited. I see things in “paintings” and usually can’t wait to get home from a hike or a beach trip to paint the beauty of creation. Our family regularly hikes in Colorado, the Adirondack mountains of upstate New York, and of course, in our home state of North Carolina, the Blue Ridge Mountains. It brings me so much joy to paint these places from my experiences and pass them on to others to bring beauty into their home, and perhaps remind them of one of their favorite places.

WHAT MAKES MEGAN WELSH FINE ART SO UNIQUE?

My unique style as an artist is impressionistic, so I love to reflect a scene on canvas without trying to copy it exactly the way a photo does. I usually paint landscapes from my own photos or from my son’s photography work. I truly love the outdoors, and find inspiration even just driving down the road.

BREATHTAKING SCENES FOR EVERY HOME

Megan’s passion for creating affordable art is the driving force behind her partnership with places like Cotswold Marketplace, a retail and design center for interior designers as well as the general public. She also works directly with interior designers to create one-of-a-kind pieces for the home, and commissioned work from her own clients wanting to remember a special place. Megan’s offerings also include fine art paper prints in various sizing, custom framing, and adorable 4×4 wood panels she calls Landscape Littles.

We loved creating a brand session for Megan with the specific goal of launching her new artist website and storefront. From social media posts, to sending artist bios out to galleries, Megan has an almost unending supply of brand imagery that will serve her well over the next year or more!

You can see more of Megan’s work on her website, or in person at Cotswold Marketplace starting February 21st, and also at the upcoming gallery crawl on March 7th at Dilworth Artisan Station.
